Sharks and FURIA have claimed spots at the ZOTAC Cup Masters 2018 Americas Regional Finals after finishing top two in the South American qualifier.
En route to the final stage of this single-elimination qualifier, FURIA beat Não Tem Como in an exciting three-map series in which Kaike "KSCERATO" Cerato stole the show with a 1.33 rating, while Sharks dismantled dreamWorse after just two maps.
But in the semi-final series against Isurus, FURIA's main driving force was Andrei "arT" Piovezan, who led the charge for his team on both Inferno - one of the Argentinians' strongest maps - and Overpass to help secure a quick 2-0 victory.
From the other half of the bracket came Sharks, also fresh off booking a spot in the ESL LA League final. Renato "nak" Nakano's side took the lead in the series against Yeah with a close 16-13 win on Mirage before easing past their opponents on Train, where Leonardo "leo_drk" Oliveira ran riot (1.86 rating, 122 ADR).
The ZOTAC Cup Masters Americas Finals will be held at the Esports Arena, in Santa Ana, from June 30 to July 1. Besides Sharks and FURIA, two invitees and two teams coming out of the North American qualifiers will be taking part in this event, which will have $20,000 and a spot at the main ZOTAC Cup Masters event up for grabs.
The team list for the North American event currently looks as follows:
